Hello Everyone,
Since we decided to meet as a class for First Friday Art Trail I thought we could all meet at LHUCA or The Louise Hopkins Underwood Center for the Arts located at 511 Ave. K. Here is the website: http://lhuca.org. The main entrance looks like a large purple cube. Just enter here and we can meet in the first gallery you walk into. There is wine for sale so feel free to help yourself is you are of legal age. I would appreciate it if everyone can get there by 6:30 p.m. You are more than welcome to arrive at 6 when the event officially begins.
If you get lost or have any other problems please call or text me at 806-559-9431.
I just want everyone to have fun and see that Lubbock does have a thriving art scene.

Buddy Holly Center and Readings for July 17
Hello All,
The Buddy Holly Center is located at 1801 Crickets Ave. There should be a lot of parking available out front. It is the building near I-27 with the large black-rimmed glasses sculpture. If anyone needs a ride please e-mail me. I can provide one if you need me to do so.
Your readings are:
p. 160 Rethinking Discipline
p. 167 A Mother Speaks Out
p. 168 Teaching the Whole Story
p. 199 Staying Past Wednesday.
I know I originally had you all reading the article about arranged marriages, but I changed it to Staying Past Wednesday. I thought this article addressed the age group you are all planning on teaching a little more.
I wanted to keep the readings short so everyone can work on their clay pieces on Thursday.

Welcome to the ART 3372 SEC 001 Summer 2014 Class Blog
Hello Everyone,
Welcome to our class blog. This is where I will post any changes to the class readings, due date reminders, and any other information pertaining to the class.
On the top of the blog is where you will find links to things, such as, the course syllabus, TEKS for elementary, middle, and high school levels and example lesson plans. Throughout the semester this is information you will need to access, and now it is all here on the blog.
If you miss a day of class please check the blog to see if there are any changes to the reading assignments, or to see if anything is due before you e-mail me. You can e-mail me to let me know you will not be in class, but as far as accessing what you missed please check the class blog.
You are all authors of the blog, so you can post anything you like (as long as it is appropriate and relevant to the class).
Please feel free to post if you want to add anything to a discussion that you did not get the chance to say in class. I will be keeping track of how often people engage in discussion, and it will effect your discussion/participation grade. Therefore, if you feel you did not say much in class you can post on here. I will be reading over the blog throughout the week to see if anyone posts any comments, questions, statements or suggestions.
If you find any artwork, videos etc. that you feel connect to our discussions please post it on here. I also welcome you to post your own artwork, or artwork you want to try making.
Please remember to use "I" language, and to be courteous to other people's posts. This is a place where you are welcome to be open, honest and candid, but be respectful of everyone else's ideas or posts.
Welcome to Art 3372 Sec 001. I hope everyone is ready to have a great semester, engage in important discussions, read new texts, and make meaningful art.
